Wednesday October 12, 2016 is Bring Your Teddy Bear To Work & School Day.

“They come in every shape and size, and protect us from the fear of the dark and comfort us in times of turmoil. Whether they’re fuzzy or woolly, old or new, cute or bold, Teddy bears are the childhood friend that never let us down. But where did these Teddy Bears come from, and why are they called “Teddy” bears? Bring Your Teddy Bear To Work & School Day celebrates the origins of the Teddy, and where it’s going! .

But who first came up with the Teddy Bear? Believe it or not it was created in two places almost simultaneously by unrelated people, Richard Steiff of Germany, and Morris Michtom of the United States. This day is your reminder that your childhood companion never abandoned you, and they deserve to not be abandoned by you. So take your favorite childhood stuffed bear to work, or to school, and let it spend a day with you now that the child it protected is all grown up.

Celebrating this day is as easy as following the instructions inherent in the name. Gather up your childhood buddy and take them into school or work with you, and trade stories of the games and life you lived with them. Some people have lots of stuffed bears still, including ones made by beloved grandparents or received as gifts. A few, a special few, have themselves a teddy bear still with them from their cribs. Share your fuzzy friends with others today, and let everyone know you still love them.” ^sPm – #sharpharmade Fr ‘Days of the Year’ http://ow.ly/i/nTBWz
